Double Cheese Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:
For the pizza dough:

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (around 110°F/43°C)
1 teaspoon sugar
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
For the pizza sauce:

1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste

For the toppings:

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Any additional toppings you prefer (e.g., pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, etc.)
Instructions:
In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir the ingredients until they come together to form a dough.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

While the dough is rising, prepare the pizza sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the crushed tomatoes, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Set the sauce aside to cool.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Transfer it to a floured surface and divide it into two equal portions if you want to make two pizzas. Roll out each portion into your desired pizza shape and thickness.

Place the rolled-out dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread a generous amount of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese. Add any additional toppings you desire.

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
